Workshop Description

MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience) is a curriculum based training programme designed by MOVE International to help children and adults with physical disabilities acquire more abilities (and independence) to sit, stand, walk and transition, while going through their daily activities in the classroom. This is achieved through instruction and the use of adaptive equipment or regular classroom furniture.

MOVE Basic Provider Training will be offered as part of our 6th Annual Special Needs Conference and Expo.

Persons with disabilities today make up a significant market niche. They represent 20% of the Jamaican poipulation and are consumers who don't just buy wheelchairs and medical supplies. They also buy soap, milk, socks, jewellery, makeup, home improvement goods, use travel services, live in houses, buy cars and enjoy nice home furnishings.

This expo will bring together the consumers with disabilities with the products and services which they use.
